Bodegas Sinforiano

Cigales, Spain

Located in the village of Mucientes in the province of Valladolid, Bodegas Sinforiano was founded in 1966 by Sinforiano Vaquero and Daniela Gomez, who began with just a handful of vines and a tiny cellar.

The estate, now managed by their children, is notable for its remarkable old vineyards of Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo) in the Pisuerga valley and on the hillsides of the Montes de Torozos at an altitude of 740m. The low, bush-trained vines, ranging in age between 40 and 120 years old, are grown in gravelly soils with a deep layer of clay- limestone. Winemaker Ruth Sierra de la Gala makes a range of wines from the 70 hectares of vines at their new cellar winemaking cellar.

Our Selections

Bodegas Sinforiano Sinfo Tinto Roble 2013

The Sinfo Tinto Roble is 100% Tempranillo from 40 to 60 year old, bush-trained vines. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine is aged for four months in a combination of French and American oak before being bottled. The wine is medium-bodied with red and black fruits on the nose and a pretty, floral quality.
